Polyurethane foam, including memory foam, is a highly flammable material made from petrochemicals. Foams marketed as "eco foam" or "soy foam" are nothing more than polyurethane foam with some soybean or castor oil mixed in.

Nearly ALL mattresses contain some form of flame retardants or flame barriers. Some companies are particularly sneaky about this one. For example, one fire barrier protectant marketed as "natural hydrated silica" is actually synthetic rayon! Other common flame barriers are made with polyacrylonitrile and other questionable chemicals.

Nearly ALL mattresses contain some form of glues or adhesives. While some companies pretend not to have glues by saying things like "NO chemical adhesives between the comfort layers," these same companies have adhesives in other places such as their coil systems!

ALL Happsy mattresses are entirely certified organic. Watch out for companies who show the GOTS logo when only certain select materials are certified or just in reference to their factory, where they're certified to be able to make organic products, but where the products themselves aren't actually certified. When in doubt, ask if the actual product your buying is certified.
